What is a Coordinator User?

The Coordinator User designs is responsible for coordinating, designing and monitoring the student’s IEP : She / he can enter and modify data (profile, school year, accommodations or modifications, , goals, means. The Coordinator User also can review IEP goals and provide recommendations at the end of the school year.

What is a Collaborator User?

The Collaborator User is invited to collaborate. She / he can view the IEP, the learning progress and can interactively participate in the IEP process : She / he can communicate with other IEP team members, can comment on student’s progress and can share files.

Can a Collaborator User modify a goal?

No, they cannot. Only a Coordinator User can modify, change or adjust goals. However, a Collaborator can ask or suggest modifications in the comments section.

What is the difference between the "Comments" and "Review" sections?

The "Comments " section provides a space to members (all users) where they can comment on or discuss the program or any goal entered in the IEP. The "Review " section, however, is meant for tracking the student's learning progress in relation to that goal. In fact, this section allows the Coordinator User to enter the periodic and annual review for each goal.

What is a condition? Do you have any examples?

A condition is a mean, a strategy, a circumstance, a context or a situation which is necessary for the action to be completed. In an IEP you usually suggest few conditions, means or strategies to reach a goal. However, the IEP team may want to integrate one condition in the formulation of a goal, to highlight expected outcome.

For instance: Given a calculator, Susan solves five two-digit subtraction mathematical problems every week.

This goal indicates that Susan will reach that goal under that one condition (given a calculator).

Conditions should be inserted only when needed.

What is a criterion? Do you have any examples?

A criterion is an appreciation element on which you can rely to evaluate or assess the value of the action, results, or the method. Basically it makes the goals mesurable. A criterion can be on one or more of the following elements: Quality, quantity, duration, intensity, frequency, rhythm and latency time. The following table provides several examples.
